This year, RBI announced its 291 open positions for Grade B officers on May 9 and began accepting applications for the RBI Grade B 2023. RBI Grade B Notification 2023 Exam Date – Extended

The RBI is accepting applications for the posts of General Grade B (DR), DEPR, and DSIM. The application date for the RBI Grade B 2023 exam has been pushed up from June 9, 2023, to June 16, 2023. You can fill out the RBI grade b exam form from the official website of the RBI (rbi.org.in.)

On April 26, 2023, the Reserve Bank of India published the official RBI Grade B Notification 2023 along with the RBI Grade B Online Registration Dates, Exam Date, and other relevant dates. The table below lists important dates for the RBI Grade B exam 2023.

RBI Grade B 2023 Application Fees

If you fall under the General and OBC Categories, you must pay a total of Rs. 850 as your application fee for the RBI Grade B 2023 exam. The same price is lowered if you fall under the SC, ST, or PWD categories to Rs. 100/-.

RBI Grade B 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The RBI Grade B Notification 2023 specifies the eligibility criteria, which are shown below.

Education Qualification For RBI Recruitment 2023:

Grade B (General) Graduation in any discipline with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) in aggregate of all semesters. 
Grade B (DEPR) A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Economics, Econometrics, Mathematical Economics, or an Integrated Economics course with a minimum of 55% overall or an equivalent grade across all semesters. 

OR

A minimum of 55% in PGDM or MBA Finance. 

OR

A Master’s degree in Economics in any of the subcategories of Economics, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the sum of all semesters

Grade B (DSIM) PG in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, or Statistics and Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur or IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% overall marks. 

OR

A Master’s degree in Mathematics with 55% aggregate score + 1 year PG Diploma in Statistics or related subject. 

OR

A minimum of 55% overall in the M. Stat. programme at the Indian Statistical Institute.

OR

A minimum of 55% overall in PG Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta.

Age Limit for RBI Recruitment: 

  • You must have been born after May 02, 1993, but not before May 01, 2002, as of May 1, 2023. That is, you need to be at least 21 years old to appear in the examination but not more than 30 years. 
  • The age limit is 32 years and 34 years respectively, if you’ve done M.Phil and Ph.D.
  • You get an age relaxation of 5 years if you fall under SC/ST category, 3 years if OBC, 10 years if physically handicapped, 13 years if OBC and Physically handicapped, and 15 years if SC/ST and physically handicapped.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B 2023 Exam is a 3-phase examination. 

  • Prelims (Phase I)
  • Mains (Phase II)
  • Interview (Phase III)

To become an RBI Grade B Officer, you must complete all three phases. While the Mains examination will include both an objective and a descriptive test, the Preliminary Examination is mainly Objective. 

The RBI Grade-B Officer 2023 prelim exam consists of one Paper with 200 marks. The total time allotted for answering is 120 minutes. In mains, you’ll get 330 minutes to answer a total of 130 objective questions and 3 subjective questions. Whether you’ll make it to the interview round or not entirely depends on your Mains score. 

RBI Grade B 2023 Syllabus

The common test areas, such as Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness, will be included at the prelims stage. It is usually the same as that of Banking Exams. While the RBI Grade B Phase 2 is made up of the Economic & Social Issues (ESI), Finance & Management (F&M), and English Descriptive papers.

In the RBI notification 2023, the Reserve Bank of India stated that there will be 291 open positions overall. Here are the three divided group openings in RBI Grade B 2023: 

  • 222 Vacancies in General (DR)
  • 38 Vacancies in DEPR (DR)
  • 31 Vacancies in DSIM (DR)

RBI Grade B 2023 Salary

Rs. 55,200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850(2)-86550-3300(4)-99750(16 years) is the Pay scale of an RBI grade B officer. In addition to the Basic Salary, there will be additional compensation such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, etc.
